Pac-Man World 3 is a platform video game developed by Namco Hometek and Blitz Games and published by Namco for PlayStation Portable. Released in 2005, it is the third game in the Pac-Man World series and the only one in the trilogy to not be released in Japan. It also marks the 25th anniversary of the Pac-Man arcade game. This game features more fighting and more melee combat than the first two Pac-Man World games. It also features a speaking Pac-Man for the first time outside the cartoon series.

Description

The classic gaming character Pac-Man is back for the third iteration of the Pac-Man World series. The game features the classic Pac-Man powers and adds a few new abilities–such as superstomp and electric shock–to assist the yellow-ball-like hero against his ghost foes. You will also be able to take control of two different ghost characters. The game takes place in both 2D and 3D and includes the original Pac-Man arcade game.

Gameplay

The game features numerous differences from the previous Pac-Man World games, placing an emphasis on action and combat whilst still preserving most of the platforming elements from the previous entries. The Butt-Bounce move is now modified so that it can only be done three times at once, with the third bounce creating a small shockwave that slightly extends the radius of the attack. The Rev-Roll is mostly the same, but can now be stopped before launching Pac-Man by pressing the jump button. New moves include punching, as well as acrobatic moves with poles, such as swinging and climbing. B-Doings also reappear but now only serve to launch Pac-Man into a single predetermined direction, and Pac-Dot Chains are now generated by machines that are activated using crystals with the same color. The game also features more elements of story, with a plot that is fleshed out by cutscenes and voiced character dialogue.
